But how do i get better weapons (bows mainly) do i have to craft them or buy them or are they rewards? Also are they lvl specific and what ones should i aim to get? Thanks all

Reward bows are often good, and you will be getting alot of rewards from, quests post-searing. Alternatively, and I'm not being offensive here, type "noob looking for bow" in post-searing ascalon, and I'm sure someone will help you out with a free/cheap bow.

Weapons are not "lvl specific". For a ranger I would suggest three bows in long, medium and short range. There are different mods available (strings and grips) depending on your style of play. Search the forums for more details.

In pre-sear the best bow I generally get is the reward from Aidan.

as far as post searing, there are many rewards/collectors/players selling bows that you can find. the collectors bows will be your cheapest route |

I agree the collector bows are low requirements and good damage bonuses. With a couple of good mods and customization they will be equal to any high end bow. At a fraction of the price. I guess people just dont like the skins.

2. Crafting them is a waste imho; much better bows can be dropped or bought for less. "By level specific" I assume you mean your regular character level. No; they are not. They rely specifically always on your rank in marksmanship. Hope this clarified. --The Shim |

u can get money from quest (but very rarely) usually you just get gold by picking it up from monsters or selling the stuff that they drop

Some quests rewards cash. Not many, and not much. Mobs drop gold, and other items. Maybe even that bow you are looking for. Get a slavage kit and an identification kit from the merchant and salvage everything you get. Except that bow of course. You can then sell the crafting material to the material trader for gold. Some items that drop collector's collect and will exchange for wepaons or armor. Find out what they are collecting and save those. First Charr Hides - save four of those trade for fur squares. Also Charr Carvings - those trade for Ascalon Bow in Piken Square

The Charr hide trick. A way to make some cash fast... Get charr hides; notice the value? 5 gold. Whats 4 charr hides x 5 gold? 20 gold. That's not a lot considering what you CAN make..and here's how: Charr hides. 4 of them. Collector in ascalon beside the vendors offers a fur square for four. What's the value of a fur square you ask? Anywhere from 150-200 gold depending on the market. To me; this is a no brainer. You make the decision. This is half the reason you see people spamming "WTB Charr hides, 20-30g!" --The Shim |
